About Us

Offering something different to the land development industry.

We are a scrappy group of capable professionals, dedicated to our work. All staff are salaried professionals vested in the success of the company and all of our work is undertaken in-house, so no freelancers and none of our core activities are sub-contracted or out-sourced. It would be easy to present the usual platitudes of “company culture” but, simply put, we believe in our science and technologies, we believe in on-going learning & development for all staff, whatever their pursuits, and we believe in putting our money where our mouth is with regard to investments in hardware and software. Everything else, pretty much, takes care of itself.

Starting as a geotechnical design consultancy, we became a CPT contractor because we frequently specified advanced in situ testing for our own designs. We found that CPT needed long lead-in time for procurement and quite a bit of post-processing for data collected to get it into a usable shape for design. As a technology that we have always believed in, we decided to puchase our own equipment in 2020 during the pandemic at a time when most businesses were retrenching. Since then, we have expanded slowly and purposefully, adding new capabilities and techniques. As of the time of writing, we are the UK's only independent CPT contractor - we are not owned by a larger entity. While we are small as measured by rig fleet size, we are committed to procuring and maintaining the best equipment and what we lack in scale, we make up for in hard work and decency.
